Bahrain Trophy Stakes - SCANDINAVIA

SCANDINAVIA finished a respectable 5th in the Queens Vase at Ascot, after leading and being ridden very prominent. This is a shorter distance, albeit only by 1f, however, SCANDINAVIA showed good late speed to come from a less than opportunistic position to finish 5th. The stamina will not be an issue here and is so well bred by Justify out of a Galileo Mare.

He faces a former opponent in the form of FURTHUR who is an improving black type colt, however, when looking at the Queens Vase it seemed that SCANDINAVIA could be the one to take out of the race to improve and the market support for SCANDINAVIA that has been consistent all week is a further sign of the confidence connections have with the horse. Hopefully SCANDINAVIA can get over the line first and give JUSTIFY his first winner beyond a mile and a half, currently 6/4

July Stakes - MAXIMIZED

The £720,000 breeze up, unbeaten son of Mehmas was eye-catching on his second start beating HAVANA HURRICANE who went on to win the Windsor Castle Stakes at Ascot boosting its form dramatically. The straight 6f at Newmarket should suit the Godolphin colt when asked about the horse after it's second win, Charlie Appleby (Trainer) has this to say “I don’t think this horse would be able to drop back in trip, so if we need to go to Ascot it could be the Coventry, or we could skip Ascot as I thought the July Stakes (at Newmarket) could be a nice race for him to be honest." Therefore, this was the target for some time and also shows that the 6f is it's optimal trip.

It will be his biggest challenge yet with the first time out winner BRUSSELS being a big challenger who looks the biggest danger if improving from his debut and has some form boost to back up that this may happen.

Prince Of Wales Stakes - GHOSTWRITER

The £2 million for AMO Racing made a good start to life when racing for the purple silks as he managed a good 3rd place in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, he has some good competition here in the form of both PALLADIUM and WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE the latter just carrying 8st10lb whilst the older 4 yr old's have to carry 9st8lb which could give the 4/1 shot every chance of winning. Both the Godolphin pair of EL CORDOBES and ARABIAN CROWN probably need to find a bit more to hit the front in this race as they don't have much form claims at the moment. PALLADIUM was just behind GHOSTWRITER in the Hardwicke Stakes, however, when watching the closing stages of the race it was clear that GHOSTWRITER was staying better and that may be the difference here. You would have to take the opinion that if GHOSTWRITER cannot beat these in this race then the hopes of group 1 wins for Kia at AMO Racing look very slim.

Federation of Bloodstock Agents Handicap - PAROLE D'ORO + DUTCH DECOY E/W

PAROLE D'ORO - A very lightly raced improving colt that's form reads 2128, however, that 8th was unfortunate and was in a large field for the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot, it ran a very nice race there and is off the same mark again and can have a better chance here. It should relish the ground and also the 1m trip which is the same it had at Ascot, Hector Crouch takes the ride and it's had support since declarations and has been backed into around 5/2 now.

DUTCH DECOY - Has been dropping down the weights nicely and is now on a marl of 76, may find some too good for him here and he is far from lightly raced, however, the 8 year old has had some good runs in the 85-90 rated not too long ago. This could be too big of an ask but at the weights and only carrying 8st13lb it could definitely get close if running to its best and at 13/1 it is worth having some faith with smaller stakes.
